1971 - 1977 Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Figurative Sculpture (Prof. Ján Kulich), Bratislava
Teaching experience
1977 – 1990 Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, assistant professor and later associate professor at the Department of Figurative Sculpture
1990–2000 worked as a freelance artist
2000–2022 Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica, head of the Studio of Figurative Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts
His work focuses on figurative expression in both intimate and monumental forms.
He is the author of numerous works in public spaces. Among his most significant works are:
- The "In memoriam 1945-47" memorial, a stone sculpture in Komárno, Slovakia
- The granite monument "Prometheus" in front of the entrance to the Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant
- The Žitava Peace Memorial, unveiled on the 400th anniversary of the signing of the peace treaty in the presence of representatives from Turkey, Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia in 2006, Radvaň nad Dunajom, Slovakia
- Bronze sculpture of writer Sándor Márai, Košice, Slovakia, 2004
- Memorial to Chaviva Reik, Memorial Garden at the SNP (Slovak National Upprising) Museum, Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, 2014
- Bronze sculpture of Matej Bel at the UMB (University Matej Bel) campus, Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, 2017
- Bronze sculpture of King Bela IV in the historic part of Banská Bystrica, 2021
and others.
He is a member of the Slovak Union of VIsual Arts and the Association of Hungarian Artists in Slovakia. He has won the Martin Benka Award, 1st prize in the Piešťany Parks Sculpture competition, and the M.S. Mester Díj award in Budapest.
He is married and has three daughters. He lives and works in Bratislava, Slovakia.
